The WeatherCycler Learning Materials

The WeatherCycler Slide Chart with Instruction Booklet
A durable 8 1/2" x 11" slide chart that uniquely displays map views and vertical cross sections through Highs, Lows, and fronts -- the broad-scale systems and features that dominate our weather. Sky views and changes in temperature and pressure complete the comprehensive chart depictions.
By simply pulling the chart insert, the weather systems are put into their typical movements from west to east. Weather changes are shown for your location as the weather systems pass by.
Forecasts can be made and verified instantly by flipping to information displayed in two windows on the back side of the chart. Constructed of rugged calculator board with six metal eyelets and printed in four colors. Accompanying four-page instruction booklet describes the basic causes of weather and explains step-by-step how to use The WeatherCycler.
The WeatherCycler Study Activities
A 12-page set of Study Activities designed to present weather basics. Each 2-page Activity in the set requires fifteen responses to complete. Activity titles: I. Weather Maps; II. Weather in Highs; III. Weather Fronts; IV. Weather in Lows; V. Forecasting Weather; VI. Interpreting Weather On Your Own.
The WeatherCycler Instructor's Version
The seven windows of the standard WeatherCycler face are cut through the chart for use on an overhead projector. A rigid 20-mil transparent insert in three colors makes it possible to show on a screen the same window views students see on their WeatherCyclers.
The WeatherCycler Instructor's Manual
A four-page manual describing the basics of weather and weather systems, how local atmospheric conditions are determined by prevailing weather systems and how to use the WeatherCycler in the classroom. The manual also includes background information and answer keys for the set of Study Activities.
